Our experience at St. John’s Church of Klote and Associates was extremely positive. From the first conversation with Jim by phone, he treated us with professionalism, kindness, and great care.
Though the members of our congregation are very experienced with raising funds for non-profits, both in being solicited and doing the soliciting, this was new territory for us at church. We were anxious about “spoiling a good thing,” by becoming too focused on money in one of the few places that is free of materialism. We worried that some people would be hurt or offended or feel left out. We were concerned about losing sight of our mission to seek and serve Christ is all people.
Klote and Associates listened to all of our fears and used them to help us strengthen our case. Rather than working against our values, we have found that the experience of the campaign has deepened our engagement with each other and our mission as a parish. The work has been painstaking and difficult; it is hard to speak one-on-one with everyone; we still have work to do, but we are within striking distance of our goal. (91% as I write this!)
Our consultant was a quick study, hard-working, and devoted to our success. He kept us on a schedule, equipped us to speak to our parishioners, and established good records. We are in an excellent position to complete our campaign in the next few weeks, thanks to the Klote methodology and his care with implementation.
