The JDK&A consultant assigned to us quickly immersed himself in the day to day life of the parish, especially being present in and around Sunday and weekday worship where he was able to begin building relationships with a great range of folks in an easy and unstructured way. Working with our Vestry as we called out leadership for a significant capital campaign during a time of transition to a new rector required deeper wisdom, faithfulness, patience and encouragement. He was able to provide all of this, and a clear path of accountability, in a way that was honest and challenging to key leaders as we began the hard work of personal visits with parishioners. His strong theological understandings of Christian stewardship also helped to provide a framework for challenging our membership around their giving to our annual mission budget as well.
